DESCRIPTION:

 

Due to a recent change in the Chrome browser v52, specifically with regard to WebRTC security settings, users of Guest Client, UC-One Chrome and the WRS Reference Client will experience frequent audio and video call failures.  This change in Chrome is related to how the browser uses certain encryption algorithms in order to secure WebRTC based media streams.  

 

SERVICE IMPACT:

 

WebRTC based clients i.e  Guest Client, UC-One Chrome and the WRS Reference Client will encounter frequent audio and video call failures. 

 

WORKAROUND is to be completed on guest users that are attending the meeting with Google Chrome.

 

1. Open chrome://flags in Chrome

 

2. Search for the "Use ECDSA certificates for WebRTC" settings and set it to "Disabled"

 

3. Relaunch Chrome

 

SOLUTION:

 

Altus is working on a fix and this Alert will be updated when that is available.

This issue was resolved in the latest Google Chrome update.
